2017 RCMP Canadian Sunset Ceremonies, Canada 150 edition

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is pleased to host the Canadian Sunset Ceremonies June 23-25. The Sunset Ceremonies came about as a way to thank local residents and visitors to the National Capital Region (NCR) for their ongoing support of the RCMP.

Pre-show activities begin at 5 pm, with the Musical Ride performing from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. The Ceremonies take place at the RCMP Musical Ride Centre, 1 Sandridge Road (at St. Laurent Blvd.). Bus route 7 stops nearby. Free parking is available off Sir George Étienne-Cartier Parkway.

The evening’s entertainment also features:

  • Equestrian Abilities Show
  • Mounted Arms Display
  • RCMP/Ottawa Police Service Pipes and Drums and Dancers
  • Central Band of the Canadian Forces
  • Our KIDS Zone”

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the show! The grounds are wheelchair accessible. Food, beverages and souvenirs may be purchased on site.

Admission is free; however, boxes will be set up to collect donations for the RCMP Foundation. The Foundation provides funding to community initiatives across the country in support of Canadian youth. Presenting sponsor for the 2017 Sunset Ceremonies is Motorola Solutions Canada.

The RCMP is proud to be a part of Canada’s 150th Anniversary celebrations, with the Sunset Ceremonies being one of the stops on our cross-country tour.
