If you consider who is on the list of “Pioneering Bands of Hard Sounds”, you can’t help but wonder what the Scandinavians put into the water as musicians from the north of Europe occupy two thirds of this ranking.
DYNAZTY from Stockholm are no exception. DYNAZTY was formed in early 2008 by guitarists Love Magnusson and Mikael Laver with bass player Jonathan Olsson and drummer George Egg in the Swedish joining the band in the Swedish capital in 2008. After singer extraordinaire Nils Molin perfected the five-piece, which gained a cult following and received critical acclaim for its epic melodic heavy metal, five great albums and numerous shows. The band started out with their 2009 debut ‘Bring the Thunder’ with bands like melodic hard rock from the 80’s/early 90’s providing inspiration and which ended in a decent result. On each further release, the Swedes
added a touch of hardness but also had innovative influences and didn´t lose sight of their catchy melodies, which at times veered towards pop.
After ‘Titanic Mass’ which is a huge chunk of an album and was produced by Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain), its successor ‘Firesign’ is the only logical step in the evolution of DYNAZTY, if the next goal is to claim the Rock throne. The sixth album, which will be released in autumn of 2018 on AFM Records, is, according to the band’s plan, moving towards a more stripped down, organic sound for both production and songwriting. It is limited to the essentials, which means the perfect symbiosis of melody, heaviness and diversity.
This new sound from DYNAZTY passes with flying colours on their first Single ‘Breathe With Me’, which is also the opener for ‘Firesign’. Melding machine gun fire guitar riffs with Nolins eminent voice, in combination with their orchestral keyboard sound and hugely catchy chorus, this single leaves you crying out for more. Second single ‘The Grey’ follows on August 24, 2018 alongside the official video. This high-energy mix of almost insane joy of playing and perfection, coupled with the extraordinary vocals, proves how eclectic this band is. With ‘Firesign’, DYNAZTY bring a selectio n of hits to the party and the album thrusts them forward as worthy candidates for the top places in the Big League of Melodic Metal.
Producer Thomas “Plec” Johansson did a stunning job with the recordings, alongside Peter Tätgren who is responsible for the mixing together with Jonas Kjellgren. Frontman Nils says “Even though it is quite the cliché for a band to herald their new album being the best thing since sliced bread, I simply can’t resist doing the same here! FIRESIGN is our most creative, dynamic and inspired album yet. Simply our strongest effort so far! Bring on September 28th!”
From this date on, the rest of the world can hear for themselves just how good DYNAZTY truly are with their fabulous album ‘Firesign’, a huge, riff-soaked rock monster that will be impossible to stop playing!
