Foreigner – 40 Strong Years

Foreigner had been touring all summer with Cheap Trick and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience. Without a doubt one of the hottest concerts of the year! Although we have covered Foreigner many times in concert over the years, this one was special. Not only was founding member Mick Jones front and center but a few select gigs had original singer Lou Gramm on stage as well. This hall of fame band has been touring with the nucleus of the same musicians for the last twelve years with some of the finest players around. Kelly Hansen, (Lead Vocals) Jeff Pilson, (Bass Guitar) Bruce Watson, (Lead Guitar) Thom Gimbel, (Guitar, Keys, Sax and Vocals) Chris Frazier, (Drums) Michael Bluestein (Keys) and of course the icon himself, Mick Jones on Guitar, Keys and Vocals.

This band never fails to amaze me with their classic songs that bring back so many fond memories of the past. Hits like “HOT BLOODED”, ” FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME”, “JUKE BOX HERO”, “DOUBLE VISION”, “I WANT TO KNOW WHAT LOVE IS” and more just done to absolute perfection as always. To say that this show was awesome would be an understatement it was more than that being that it was the 40 Anniversary of Foreigner doing their thing. Some people don’t like the fact that most of it’s original members are no longer with the band but I have seen this band at least 20 times over the last ten years or so and think their better now than ever.

If you have not seen Foreigner recently you are missing out. You will be amazed at how spot on their classic hits sound with their current lineup. You can catch up to all things Foreigner by going to their website.
