Future Thieves

future-thieves-0440This was a wonderful year to visit the KAABOO Festival and one of the reasons was the great music which showcased some of the newest talent out there.  One such show was the Future Thieves concert which also showcased the bands energy and was extremely entertaining.  The crowd was appreciative and respectful of the event which made it an enjoyable experience.

The band is based out of Nashville and played a combination of material from their debut album Horizon Line and some yet unreleased songs that will be included on their upcoming album release. Future Thieves is Elliot Collett (Vocals, Rhythm guitar), Nick Goss (Bass), Austin McCool (Guitar) and Gianni Gibson (Drums).  The band has a very cool sound and at times reminded me of Kings of Leon.  The band oozed charisma from the very start.  Most of the crowd appeared to be there just for them, which tells me these guys are on an up-swing in the business.  They have a Rock n Roll sound that stems from the very purest form of Rock but with a Southern touch.  Elliot’s vocals were very clear and at times had a touch of raspiness which resonated beautifully through the venue.  Because of their great music, people from outside the area started gravitating towards the stage. It was as if you could feel the buzz in the air and you knew something special was happening.

future-thieves-0416Future Thieves was changing people’s idea of what Nashville music should sound like.  Thank you for giving us a look into the future of country music.  All I can say is look these guys up and don’t hesitate to see them live.  They will quickly become your favorite Nashville based rock band.
