Garth Brooks, Tanya Tucker, Waylon Jennings & More Featured in The Pickup

the-pickupContinuing the tradition of presenting the top stories in country music, another all-new episode of the “The Pickup” features Waylon Jennings, Hillary Scott, Bill Anderson, Tanya Tucker, Crystal Gayle, The Statler Brothers and Garth Brooks.

“The Lost Nashville Sessions,” a collection of never before heardWaylon Jennings’ music, will soon be available to own. The 14 unreleased songs were recorded by Jennings’ 46 years ago in 1970. The album goes on sale October 21st.

Congratulations are in order for Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott and her family. Their single, “Thy Will” hit number one on Billboard’s Christian Digital and Christian Song charts. The song is also number one on the National Christian Audience chart.

Bill Anderson released his second book on September 1st. “Whisperin’ Bill Anderson: An Unprecedented Life in Country Music,” takes an inside look at Anderson’s career and features never before seen personal photos. Tanya Tucker, Crystal Gayle & The Statler Brothers were honored with the Pioneer Award at the 10th Annual ACM Honors. Dan + Shay and Chris Young honored the Statler Brothers with a performance, Maren Morris honored Tucker, and Kelsea Ballerini honored Gayle. The Statler Brothers expressed their gratitude for being honored, even 14 years after their retirement. Crystal Gayle said she was just excited to be back on the ACM stage again.

Garth Brooks performed his first full-length show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The concert launched Brook’s new SiriusXM station, “The Garth Channel,” and was broadcasted live on the station. The concert also featured Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood.

Crystal Gayle, Peggy Sue and their family member’s performed atLoretta Lynn’s Ranch. Lynn was unable to attend due to injuries sustained from a recent fall. However, two of Lynn’s daughters and her son Ernest did perform. Sending well wishes and a speedy recovery to Ms. Lynn.
