On the strength of Judas Priest’s new album “FIREPOWER” Rob Halford and the boys hit the stage with their hit song off the new album Firepower with the title track. It became apparent instantly that we were all in for an inspiring performance from the Metal God Himself,  Rob Halford.

Although I have seen them many times, this time seemed different because we were seeing them without stalwarts KK Downing and Glen Tipton. However Ritchie Faulkner and crew killed it from the outset. The next song was spot on “Delivering the Goods” and then” Sinner” was done to perfection. It was, to say the least a local show for Mr. Halford as he is a resident of the San Diego area for several years. Lightning Strike, Desert Plains and No Surrender followed and did not disappoint at all. I must say that I was stoked to see one of my Metal Hero’s doing what he does best, bringing the Metal. If you’ve never been to a Priest Show you are missing one of the greatest metal bands of all times and if you have seen them live then you are all too familiar with the power they bring. Next up were the amazing cuts, “Turbo Lover”, “Rising from Ruins” “Free Wheel Burning” and the iconic hit “You Got Another Thing Coming.” And boy did we. The band was on fire and just killed all of those songs. “Hell Bent For Leather” followed and then “Painkiller” and the band left the stage after that but came back for an encore that hit us all in the face with “The Hellion”, “Electric Eye”, “Breaking The Law” and finished with one of my favorites “Living After Midnight”. Like I said, this is one of my all-time favorite band’s to see live and this is a must see show for all metal fans.
