MARILLION TO RELEASE BRAND NEW STUDIO ALBUM

“F E A R”

Marillion and earMUSIC are proud to announce the worldwide release of “F E A R”, the new studio album by one of the most innovative and internationally acclaimed British bands of the last  40 years.

There is more to the album title than a first glance allows.

“F E A R” stands for Fuck Everyone And Run, a title which is neither meant aggressively or with any intention to shock but merely an appraisal of today’s world, its politics and increasingly-prevailing human behaviour.

Explains singer and lyricist Steve Hogarth: “All worthwhile human impulses come from love. And all negative and destructive human impulses come from fear.

This album is called Fuck Everyone and Run or F E A R.

This title is adopted not in anger or with any intention to shock. It is adopted and sung (in the song ‘New Kings’) tenderly, in sadness and resignation inspired by an England, and a world, which increasingly functions on an ‘Every man for himself’ philosophy. I won’t bore you with examples, they’re all over the newspapers every day.

There’s a sense of foreboding that permeates much of this record. I have a feeling that we’re approaching some kind of sea-change in the world – an irreversible political, financial, humanitarian and environmental storm. I hope that I’m wrong. I hope that my FEAR of what ‘seems’ to be approaching is just that, and not FEAR of what ‘is’ actually about to happen.”

F E A R (recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in England) is the band’s 18th studio album and will be released on September 9th, 2016 on earMUSIC as a 1CD Digipak, Limited Edition Super Audio-CD, Vinyl and Digital. Now available for physical pre-order with the digital pre-order to follow soon.

More details about the album will be revealed in the near future.

Marillion will introduce songs from the new album at headline shows throughout 2016 and into 2017.
