Meat Loaf – “Paradise By The Dashboard Light”

I’ve been able to see Meat Loaf many times over the last 40 years so I was very familiar with what I was about to witness. I have always loved the whole production that is a Meat Loaf trademark. I was privileged many years ago to witness a rehearsal before “Bat Out Of Hell” was released. I walked away that day overwhelmed with what I had witnessed.  The writing and musicianship was amazing and of course no one had ever heard this music before so I had no reference at all.  I remember when I left the studio that I couldn’t stop talking about the whole production.  It was like a true rock opera with Meat and Karla DeVito just playing off each other.

After the show I spoke with Meat himself and he actually remembered me being at the rehearsal 40 years ago!   We spoke for about 15 minutes and had a lot of laughs about the old days.

There is new music coming folks and the new band rocks hard. The trademark production is still there and Meat Loaf still puts his heart and soul into every song.

This time around it was all different players and included the amazing Cian Coey.  When I heard that the amazing Meat Loaf was touring and, coming to my city to perform I contacted Cian, who is singing with the band on this tour to arrange an interview.

I’ve been following Cian for the last year and I knew she was going to kill it. Her vocals added so much to the overall production of Meat Loaf songs and she delivered. Cian Coey’s voice is amazing and her performance is like a Broadway play. Check her out on you tube you will see what I mean.

If you were a fan of Meat Loaf back in the day, catch them on tour now. You won’t be disappointed. I think you’ll walk away as I did, very satisfied.
