Saxon

The show started out with the Jared James Nichols band.  Jared James Nichols is a Hard Rock American singer, songwriter and guitarist from the state of Wisconsin who released his debut EP, “Old Glory and the Wild Revival,” in 2013. In July 2015, he released a full-length album of the same name.

Once again Jared James Nichols showed his song writing skills when the Band performed their new song “Don’t be scared”. The chorus of the song was very catchy and it was easy for the crowd to pick up on it to sing along. When playing the song “Baby can’t you feel it” Jared James Nichols showed that he was not only a great vocalist but he was also proficient at playing his guitar. The band pulled the crowd in with ease and topped off the performance with the classic song “Rock ’n’ Roll Hoochie Koo” by Rick Derringer and “Mississippi Queen” by the band Mountain.

SAXON:

Saxon is a heavy metal band which formed in 1977, in South Yorkshire. The band has had eight UK Top 40 albums in the 1980s including four UK Top 10 albums and two Top 5 albums. They had numerous singles in the UK Singles Chart and chart success all over Europe, Japan and in the US. In the 1980s Saxon established themselves as one of Europe’s biggest metal acts. The band has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and tours regularly. The band’s current lineup includes vocalist “Biff Byford”, guitarist “Paul Quinn”, drummer “Nigel Glockler”, bass guitarist “Nibbs Carter” and guitarist “Doug Scarratt”

It was a high energy atmosphere when the band came out on stage and they didn’t disappoint. Starting out with “Battering Ram” to warm up the crowd was a great choice because the song added to the energy already in the room. It was hard for me to stand still and not move with the music. The song showed the power of the band’s music and showcased Biffs vocal range. The crowd’s response from there on out was nonstop excitement while the band kept on rocking the stage. When the song “The Eagle Has Landed” came on, I absolutely loved the guitar solo. I didn’t want the guitar part to end. I was mesmerized by the guitar players technique.  It was amazing to see that the performance energy of the band was just as high as it was in 1992 when I saw them perform in Germany. If you have not experienced Saxon’s live show or have not listened to Saxon’s music, and you like Metal music, I highly recommend that you check it out.
