The Premiere of The Documentary Film BAND VS BRAND to Screen at The Hall of Heavy Metal History Gala

Hosted by Metal Monarch Eddie Trunk, Advance Tickets are Available Online and Admission to the Screening is Open to the General Public

The premiere of BAND VS BRAND, a feature-length documentary film directed by Bob Nalbandian (Director of the Inside Metal series) will make its screening premiere on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Marriott Delta Garden Grove just prior to the the annual The Hall of Heavy Metal History Gala. The documentary focuses on the current state of the music business and on how “the brand” of a rock group these days has more power than the band members themselves. Tickets for the awards gala are $30 each with the movie premiere open to the general public, free of charge.

“We are honored that Pat Gesualdo, Founder and CEO of the Hall of Heavy Metal History, invited us to do the premiere screening for BAND VS BRAND at the Metal Hall of Fame and Awards,” said Nalbandian.

The film features interviews from several top industry executives and musicians of today, including David Ellefson of the Grammy Award-winning band Megadeth, Jack Russell from Jack Russell’s Great White, Nik Turner and Nicky Garrett from Nik Turner’s Hawkwind, Dave Lombardo from Suicidal Tendencies and formerly with Slayer, Marc Ferrari from Keel, Frank DiMino from Angel, Mike Varney from Shrapnel Records, Pat Gesualdo from The Hall of Heavy Metal History, manager Adam Parsons (Uriah Heep, Saxon, Europe, Thin Lizzy/BSR), guitarist/songwriter Jean Beauvoir (Plasmatics, Little Steven) and many others.

BAND VS BRAND will be coming to DVD and Digital Streaming outlets in March 2019 via Cleopatra Entertainment.

The Hall Of Heavy Metal History Awards Gala:

The 2019 inductees for the Annual Hall of Heavy Metal History’s Metal Hall of Fame Gala and Awards; Jon and Marsha Zazula (Founders, Megaforce Records); Lita Ford (with 2018 inductee Doro Pesch presenting); Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, The Winery Dogs); David Ellefson (Megadeth); Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake with John Sykes accepting for Bob Daisley; Frank Bello (Anthrax); Saxon (with Nigel Glockler accepting); and Jeff Scott Soto (Yngwie Malmsteen, Sons of Apollo).

Music performances at the gala will include legendary drummers and Hall of Heavy Metal Inductees brothers Carmine Appice and Vinny Appice who will perform songs from their new “Sinister” CD. Los Angeles heavy rock/metal group Budderside will open the show. Several surprise guest appearances are scheduled to be announced soon.

“We are grateful for all the hard work they’ve done over the years to keep rock and metal relevant. I also want to take this opportunity to praise metal fans all over the world. They are an important part of the Hall of Heavy Metal History. With their support, they are helping us keep rock and metal alive for generations to come,” said Gesualdo.

The Annual Metal Hall of Fame Awards Gala pays tribute to these important musicians for their lifelong work. In addition, The Hall of Heavy Metal History is part of the D.A.D. Program (Drums and Disabilities) to help children fight disabilities on a Global basis, and joins with the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund.
