Edge of Free Pushes The Envelope

Dynamic duo Scott Sneddon and John Hussey longtime friends and musicians  have pushed the envelope on their self-titled freshman release Edge of Free!  This original modern rock combination of aggressive acoustic riffs, heavy guitars and heartfelt lyrics both melodic and hard-hitting make for an uniquely interesting certified organically correct observance! If at first cord strikes you think there’s something different, perhaps even off you are exactly right! To a brilliant and purposeful reasoning! What Sneddon and Hussey have mastered for our consideration is not the all too familiar formula we are accustomed to hearing in today’s mainstream music. As with anything new or unexpected you may need only to clear your pallet to enjoy this tasty morsel!  Were you aware that listening to music takes using the whole brain? I suggest you open your mind and listen fully to receive the Edge of Free experience! You’ll be glad you did!   Sneddon and Hussey stay true to themselves in their formulation.

Their songs of love, loss, addiction and survival are a musical biography conveyed with the passion only the author of the story can deliver. With disarming honesty, in songs like Blood Eagle, Pushin’ The Needle, and my personal favorite Pony, you can hear the descent into depression and the other struggles the duo faced as they reveal themselves in the tone and lyrical content. Yet the overall feel of the album is evocative to the positive side of human nature. Conveying addiction isn’t a dark hole you steep into with hope of no return!  Edge of Free has chops good enough to pioneer back to a day when music captured and delivered the true essence of the artist on vinyl in their truest form, therefore my darlings, there are no pitch or tonal corrections to be found on this cutting-edge debut which is why I will again refer to this release as “certified organically correct”!  Neither will you find any adherence to the typical lyrical structure.  What you hear is what you get and what you get is damn good!  Got it? Good. Go get it!
