BackStage360 Sits Down With Guitar Great – John 5 To Discuss His New Movie Soundtrack, Current Projects, Signature Model And Fender Telecaster Guitar Collection

 John 5 / Ramona Mainstage

Recently, just prior to his show at the Ramona Mainstage, I had the great pleasure of sitting down with the amazing John 5 for an interview. We spoke about his success as the lead guitarist for Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, and the band Halford.

He reminisced about how he got started as a boy by watching the classic TV show Hee Haw.  He spoke of being amazed by the great players that he watched such as country legends Roy Clark, Chet Atkins and many more.

John 5-8948We talked in depth about the many side projects that he currently has going on in his life. He just completed writing the sound track for Rob Zombie’s newest horror movie 31.  John also worked on Rob’s previous movie entitled The Lords of Salem, as well as his solo projects that he is touring behind right now. For all of his success and acclaim John was and is, very humble and grounded. He was extremely gracious with his time with us as he is as well with his fans. John has a huge affinity for Fender Telecasters and of course his signature model John 5 Telecaster. He possesses one of the most extensive collections of Telecasters starting with 1950 Broadcasters all the way up till 2015. He has every year from 1950 and that in itself is amazing. We also spoke about his endorsement with Dean Markley strings which he uses exclusively.

The showoff course was epic to say the least. His band was great and spot on. John’s virtuosity on guitar is unparalleled. You can also listen to my interview with John at a link below this article.
