One Less Reason – The Memories Uninvited

One Less Reason LogoOne Less Reason was formed in 1998 in Jackson, TN, but was known as Lappdog at that time.  The band dropped the Lappdog name in 2002 and became One Less Reason also changing their sound, combining the hard rock songs they already wrote with softer more melodic material.  The band has recorded five independent albums, “Everydaylife [2005]”, “Getting Back Your Self Esteem [2006]”, “A Lifetime Burning [2008]”, “Faces and Four Letter Words [2010]” and “A Blueprint for Writhing” before giving us “The Memories Uninvited [2016]” and has some impressive digital sales.  The new album has been released on Tattooed Millionaire Records; which, along with the band One Less Reason is the brainchild of vocalist Cris Brown.

“The Memories Uninvited” is consistent throughout the entire album, the track ‘Where Were You?’ has a Lyric video which allows the listener the added advantage of reading the song lyrics and is a song about how there are people in your life that share the same blood as you, but they are the first ones to give up on you when things are going wrong.  They are also the same people to stand next to you and take credit for all of your achievements.  At the same time, there are people in your live that share no blood relation that will back you all the way no matter what.  Blood doesn’t necessarily make family.  The entire album is very lyrically driven which draws you into the songs from the first track to the end.  I loved the messages behind the songs which are very heartfelt and push you from song to song making the album very engaging to the listener.  Cris Brown’s voice was able to convey all the emotional impact that the songs needed to deliver to the listener to make it a worthwhile journey.

If you have never heard of One Less Reason before, check into all of their albums.  I can guarantee you’re going to be impressed by what you hear.  I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did.
