Heartland Rock & Roll Band Wins "Emerging Artist Series" Contest at World's Largest Music Festival

An independent rock & roll band with major-label-sized success, Andrew Leahey & the Homestead played a triumphant set at Summerfest — the world’s largest music festival — on Sunday, June 30th, add-ing another milestone to a year whose highlights include national radio airplay, international tour dates, and critical acclaim for the band’s sophomore album, Airwaves.

Following Andrew Leahey & the Homestead’s performance at the 3,200-capacity Johnson Controls World Stage, the band was named the winner of Summerfest’s “Emerging Artist Series,” a daily competition in which fans vote for their favorite festival performance. In addition to receiving a standing ovation from the crowd, the band was also awarded an “Emerging Artist Series Care Package” of new musical gear. Previous artists featured in the annual Emerging Artist Series in-clude Walk the Moon, Nathaniel Rateliff, Maren Morris, BØRNS, X Ambassadors, and The Record Company.
