Los Lonely Boys at the Belly Up Tavern

You would never have guessed it was a Sunday night, in April, in Solana Beach. Los Lonely Boys were wrapping up the end of their West Coast Tour, and lucky for us in the area, they landed at the Belly Up Tavern. The place was packed well before the doors opened until the early morning.

As Lisa Morales kicked off the evenings festivities, the place really came alive. I can see why they chose her as their opener. She’s more than a creative and talented musician, she’s also a bit of a comedian…pure entertainment through and through. Her most recent CD was released earlier this year, Luna Negra and Daughter of the Sun, and is available at all of your music media drug of choices… Feel free to Google her. Heads-up, she isn’t the Lisa Morales in the bikini, she is the one with the guitar.

When Los Lonely Boys took the stage, they killed it the entire night. You could feel the band was feeding off the crowd and going for it as if they were playing in front of 10,000 people the entire time. All eyes and ears in the place were on them song after song for nearly two hours.

I have to get this out into the Universe..apparently “Heaven” isn’t too far for some because the guy behind me hit the deck and just lay there for a bit, soaking up every moment. The energy from the band and the exuberant patrons were an absolute privilege to be a part of.

This band of brothers, as you would agree if you experienced them, were completely dialed in. And by the way, they are actual brothers. So riddle me this: Three blood brothers, growing up in the same household, touring extensively, and still manage to be so bonded … was another incredible experience to watch. I’ll just have to chalk that up to a family trait, as their father, Ringo Garza Sr, was in the band, Falcons, with his brothers during the 70’s and 80’s.

We all know they are related, but after seeing them tear up the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach on Sunday April 22nd, I can tell y’all for certain, they are 1000% underrated!

They are currently on tour so be sure to check their website or Facebook page for cities and dates.
