Mitch Perry Group– Music Box

So, so much great music on this album, where to even start… Rock guitar powerhouse, Mitch Perry switches it up on, Music Box.  Released on March 24, 2020, in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, Music Box was exactly what we needed!  An ensemble of seven multi-talented artists, brings it home with a collective that was music to our souls when the world shut down.

Embodied by an all-star cast of characters, it is a joy ride down a southern byway, taking a turn through Nashville, popping into Memphis, down into the delta though New Orleans, hopping over the Austin while working your way up to Chicago to land in Cleveland.

Music Box is a series of nine tracks, including a re-mixed cover of The Rolling Stones, Jumpin’ Jack Flash, that actually makes me like the song!  Each Track transitions effortlessly from one to the next filling the air with leather and lace vocals, dynamic guitars riffs, solos, and instrumental pauses, taking the blues, swing, good ole rock and roll to the next level.  One minute you are wistfully sipping a glass a red wine relating to  Wasted Time the next you are donning your dancin’ shoes to Saint Valentine.

American-made nomad, guitarist, singer-songwriter, Mitch Perry, with a professional resume as long as his hair, blends his virtuoso skills with a trio of vocalists, all who have roots deep seated in the American south.  The Mitch Perry Group is fronted by the misty-raw velvet sounds of Shelly Bonet; Kara Turner chimes with classic brassy, melancholy Mississippi blues and Atlanta born, Keith England, completes the trinity of harmonic perfection with the deep, rich tones that is reminiscent of  smokey speakeasys and supper clubs.  Completing the circle of  seven is bass guitarist, the infamous Dan McNay, who regularly tours with Jack Russell’s Great White and longtime bassist for Ronnie Montrose, Tal Bergman, a multi-genre drummer who has graced stages and studio sessions with the likes of Billy Idol, BB King and Herb Albert.   Session keyboard player, Ed Roth, completes the instrumental, full band, sound of this magical team of artists.  You can hear Ed’s collaborations along with a long list of well-known artists, including Annie Lennox, Rob Halford and Peter Frampton.

Music Box blends perfectly into any environment.  Stream it during cocktail hour out by the pool, pop it in your car, put the top down, Pack it Up and Go, and let the Music Box take you for a ride!
