New Years Day – Come to Me

DED

Friday night and I’m ready to start my weekend with a big bang and I can’t think of a better place to start than Oklahoma’s own Diamond Ballroom.  I arrived to see the band DED setting up and getting ready to assault our senses.  DED is an American nu metal band from Tempe, Arizona and is fairly new considering this band released its debut track “FMFY” in December of 2016.  They then followed up a few months later with “Anti-Everything”. In May 2017 the song ranked at NO. 18 on Mainstream Rocks list of Billboards top songs.  The band first toured with Korn and Animals as leaders in May 2017 and Korn again on the Serenity of Summer Tour with Stone Sour, Yelawolf and others. But tonight we were honored to have them in our presence at

Diamond Ballroom and they were here for one job and one job only, to let us know they are here to have a great time.  The band consist of Joe Cotela on Lead Vocals, David Ludlow on guitar and backing vocals, Kyle Koelsch on Bass guitar and backing vocals and Matt Reinhard on Drums.  It was an awesome show and with songs like “Hate Me”, “Anti-everything” and “FMFY” they came with the correct ammunition to start the assault before “New Years Day” took the stage.

New Years Day

New Years Day is an American Rock band formed in Anaheim, California in 2005.  The band is comprised of Ashley Costello on Vocals, Nikki Misery on Rhythm guitar, Frankie Sil on Bass, Austin Ingerman on Lead Guitar and James Renshaw on Drums.  In the crowd; were some New Years Day hard core fans, which are affectionately known as “Creeps,” who helped pump up the crowds’ energy. The band appeared to be more polished and mature than the earlier days when I saw them in Los Angeles. Ash’s vocals cut thru the air like an arrow destined for its target and she commanded your full attention every second of every song that belted from this brilliant bands instruments.  They started the show with the song “Come to Me” whose official video was released on YouTube just 23 hours prior to this show.  The video reminded me of Rob Zombie or John 5’s videos of late.  The song was like Halestorm on steroids, I would advise you to search for the bands videos and enjoy. (Warning:  May not be suitable for children), just a friendly warning.  There is blood and gore involved in the videos.

New Years Day

The bands riffs and energy are going to stir up your inner demons and bring out your aggressive nature.  The songs got the crowd pumped up and you just wanted more, the more you listened the more you felt that insatiable appetite grow for the music.  Despite the very talented musicianship on stage it was hard not to focus on Ash’s intoxicating vocals.  I believe that after tonight’s show most of the crowd will have a New Years Day addiction.
