Saving Abel at The Legends

Kirra

After a Day full of household chores, I thought it was time for me to sit down for a little and tell you guys about the Saving Abel concert at the Legends Event Park in Chickasha Oklahoma. Like always, everything was well organized, and the staff knew exactly what to do to make it a smooth going event evening. Me and my husband really enjoy going to the Legends Event Park because we know we never leave disappointed.

Kirra

For tonight the Oklahoma City band Zin Baby’s started out first with getting everybody in the right mood by performing cover songs that we all knew. It went from Brittaney Spears “One More Time” to Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train”. It was a fun start for the night.

I was excited for the next band Kirra to come on stage. This was not the first time I had seen them, and I genuinely enjoy listening to them. If you love rock and roll then this band is the right band for you. Kirra is a band from Oklahoma City and was formed in 2013. The band members are Gabriel Parson (Lead Vocals), Daxton Page (Guitar/Vocals), Ryne McNeill (Bass/Vocals) and Zach Stafford (Drums). They have released the LP Run Away in 2016, two singles Downfall and My Disease in 2017, an EP Flight or Flight in 2018 and two singles Sixteen Suns and Decider in 2019. The best news is that the band is working on their new album right now which will be released this Year also. Tonight, we got to listen to a lot of great songs. The band started out with “Pull You Out” and “Blind” and then went to “Shattered” which is a little bit on the heavier rock side but a great choice to get the show started. Another one of their songs they played was “Sixteen suns” which is one of my favorites. You can hear the beautiful vocals in the softer parts of the song, and I can tell you this song will touch you and pull you in. Another amazing song performed tonight was “Decider” which is also one of the singles. The band finished up their stage performance with “Caving In” and I must say I can’t wait to see them again in the future. I am telling you, if you like rock and roll then you will like Kirra.

Saving Abel

Kirra got the crowd heated up and ready to go for Saving Abel to take over. Saving Abel is an American rock band from Corinth Mississippi which was founded in 2004. An interesting part is that the bands name is from the biblical story of Cain and Able, according to the band member Jason Null, who googled the story and found the line about “There was no saving Abel” which jumped out at him. The band members are Scott Austin (lead Vocals), Jason Null (lead guitar, backing vocals), Scott Bartlett (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Scott Wilson (bass), Steven Pulley (drums). It didn’t take long and the singer Scott Austin called everybody at the Legends Event Park into the VIP section and brought his fans closer to the stage. He made sure there was constant interaction with his audience while performing all his great songs. Saving Abel knows how to rock and how to put the crowd in to party mode. It was such fun watching and being a part of the event. People sang, clapped their hands, cheered and rocked hard.  Saving Abel had amazing guitar tone for an outside event and the dual guitar pulled off the whole southern rock vibe.  The singer announced that they were not a heavy metal band but a southern rock band and after listening to them it made you want to go out and have a cold beer and hunt alligators.  The vocals and some songs reminded me of the band Nickleback.  The look of the band fit their sound, I’m talking American flag printed cowboy hat, Jack Daniel’s sleeveless t-shirts, tattoo’s and even an Custom Made American Flag painted PRS single cut away guitar for Jason Null.  The band looked and sounded like they were Home.
