Sevendust & Tremonti

Tremonti

I had no idea what kind of treat I was in for when I left my house to head towards the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City. It was a very cold and wet evening and we had snow and ice in the forecast which is pretty unusual for this time of the Year. I even thought about not going due to the weather but I am glad I went.

The Diamond Ballroom filled up fast and I can say they had a full house tonight. People started going to the merchandise tables to buy stuff from the bands before the show even started. The first band named Kirra entered the stage and started the evening out with a high energy performance and they pretty much kept the energy going up to the last song. Kirra is a local rock and roll band from Oklahoma City which was founded 2014. Even though the band is only 5 Years old, they took command of the stage like seasoned pros. Check out these guys and see what you think because I have a feeling you will like their style of music.

Up next was the southern rock band Lullwater. I personally had never heard of them before but I instantly fell in love with this band. They put their heart and soul into their performance grabbing all the attention from the audience. Their style is rock and roll with a little hint of southern rock which makes it very unique and the singer’s voice with a little roughness was like the icing on the cake. The band has released their new album “Voodoo” which I instantly downloaded once I returned home from iTunes. I will continue listening to those guys and I can’t wait to see what new songs they will produce in the future.

The atmosphere at the Diamond Ballroom was awesome. People were enjoying themselves and having a good time. Cane Hill the American heavy metal band was next on stage. Wow!!! The house was rocking; people jumping up and down, cheering, clapping and head banging. If you like your rock a little on the heavier side, then these guys are perfect for you.

Sevendust

So far the evening was phenomenal and so much fun. The opening acts set the mood for Tremonti, the crowd grew anxious while Tremonti took the stage.  Many of you probably know Mark Tremonti from being the lead guitarist in the band Creed and Alter Bridge. He is not just a great guitarist but also showed off his vocal prowess and song writing skills. The band played “Throw them to the Lions” and “Dying Machine” off of their new album Dying Machine which was released in 2018. This is another album I downloaded from iTunes when I got home from the concert and I love, love, love it. I highly recommend that you check it out for yourself. The other songs that the band played were “Flying Monkeys”, “Cauterize” and “Another Heart” which all are from the album Tremonti Cauterize This album was released in 2015. Then last but not least the band also played the songs “So You’re Afraid”, “Wish You Well” and “You Waste My Time” from the Album All I Was which was released in 2012. I think Tremonti couldn’t have chosen a better choice of songs for the show and ending their performance with the song “Wish You Well” was like the perfect ending. It was a job well done and the crowd showed how much they liked it by cheering and applauding like crazy.

Set list:

  1. Cauterize
  2. You Waste Your Time
  3. Another Heart
  4. Things I’ve Seen
  5. Flying Monkeys
  6. So You’re Afraid
  7. Throw them to the Lions
  8. A Dying Machine
  9. Wish You Well

Sevendust

Sevendust

Now it was time for Sevendust to perform. The atmosphere was on a very high energy level. The audience started to call out their Name, anxiously waiting for the band to take the stage. The lights went out and the band entered the stage. As soon as Sevendust started to perform it was like an atomic bomb had gone off. Wow! what an atmosphere! Everybody in the audience was cheering, dancing, head banging, clapping and just rocking out. Sevendust is a very well known metal band from Georgia which started out in 1994. Since then they have released many albums including the newest one All I See Is War, released in 2018. Tonight we had the privilege of listening to one of the newer songs called “Dirty” from the 2018 album. Also Sevendust performed “Black, “Praise”, “Bitch”, ”Waffle”, “Enemy”, “Angel’s Son” and “Face To Face” which are all on Sevendust ‘s Best Of (Chapter one 1997-2004) album. The band kept the audience so focused and energized that nobody realized how fast time went by.

We all had a total blast and I can say this was one of my favorite concerts I have been to and I see many concerts. You pay to see a good show and get entertained and this evening it was money well spent. I heard people talking amongst themselves saying that they can’t wait for the band to come back and they appeared to be very excited looking forward to seeing them again.
