The New Black – A Monsters Life

The New Black_1500x1500 A Review of “A Monster’s Life”

Band: The New Black

We all have our favorite bands.  The bands we grew up with that can do almost no wrong.  I have an extensive list starting with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, The Beatles, Jeff Beck, Pink Floyd, Foghat, Pat Travers, AC/DC etc…..  I can listen to them over and over and over again.  I can now add another band to that impressive list that I call my Favorites.  The band’s name is “The New Black” the album “A Monsters Life”.  This band generates nothing but brilliant songs that demand your immediate attention and respect.  I can’t stop listening. This is strange especially from a band whose members are unknown to myself and get this — are you ready…… This is their Fourth Album!  Do I sound excited? Where have these guys been hiding? I finally know the perfect rock album formula. Find an amazing producer, Jacob Hansen (Volbeat) and equally talented musicians with amazing song writing abilities and vocals, put them in a studio and Tada!!!  A near perfect Rock album is created!

I normally break down what I like about each song and point out what I find interesting from beginning to end.  This will be my easiest review ever!  The album starts with the song “Long time coming” (What an appropriate song title) and ends with “That’s your poison not mine” and everything in between will have you forgetting about your day.  The songs are well thought out, intelligently written and will leave you wanting more. The only thing on your mind will be WTF! I need to buy this now!

The New Black_P03_(c)ChrisWeissAll I can say is, if you love Rock n Roll and Metal you need to support this band; you will NOT be disappointed.  I can’t stop listening to it long enough to do my next review. I love music of all genres and it is indeed rare to find a band that makes you feel this good. Ask yourself, when was the last time you bought an album with no filler songs on it? Every song is as strong if not stronger than the previous song.

Long Live Rock n Roll and thank God for the band The New Black!

This album is my first 5 Bolt album.  A perfect 5 out of 5 rating.
