Happy Together Tour

The Cowsills

We here at Backstage360 are always looking for unique shows to cover and to say that this show was unique would be a understatement. We first would first like to say thank you to the folks at Pala Casino for and also the Happy Together Tour for having us as your guest’s for this incredible evening of music.

Being a kid who grew up in the 60’s this was a blast from the past to be sure. Starting off with that great family band the Cowsills who were the inspiration for the hit show The Partridge Family. With their hits, Flower Girl and Indian Lake, they started the whole 60’s vibe thing going. Not to mention they sounded amazing.

The Classics iv

Next up was another great band from that era, the Classics 1V with their catalog of great hits starting with TRACES, STORMY and of course, SPOOKY. They also sounded amazing and so did the crowd as everyone was singing along with them.

Of course this show was just beginning and next up was one of my favorite bands of that time, The Buckinghams.  Singing all of their hits including their number one hit KIND OF A DRAG as well as HEY BABY, DON’T YOU CARE, and MERCY MERCY. Although there lineup has changed a bit, two of the original members still are representing the band well with great vocals and songs.

Chuck Negron From 3 Dog Night

My favorite of the night had to be the incomparable GARY PUCKETT. Talk about a voice, Wow. He started off right away with LADY WILL POWER followed up by YOUNG GIRL and WOMAN WOMAN. The crowd went nuts singing right along with Gary. It was nostalgic for me because it brought back so many fond memories from my High School days.

The Turtles

Next up was the lead singer for THREE DOG NIGHT and a dear friend, Mr. Chuck Negron hitting the stage with JOY TO THE WORLD. He followed up with the classic hit from hair, ELI’S COMING. Afterward, he took a moment to reflect on the band at that time and fondly mentioned his fallen band mates who have passed.  Next up was the bands smash hit ONE that brought the house down.

The final band of the night were the hosts that put this show together the infamous band THE TURTLES. They came out and started with ELENORE which was a huge hit for them and followed up by HAPPY TOGETHER and SOME GIRLS and SHE’S MY GIRL. If that wasn’t enough they called out all the Stars of the show and they all did a medley of everyone’s hits to finish up the show. It was one of the most enjoyable shows that I’ve ever seen. If you get a chance to see this epic tour do it. It has so many of the artists of my youth. Remember you heard it here at BackStage360. The Musicians Media.
