Rexrode Productions Does it Again With “I Believe”

Jimmy & Enrique

I Believe that Rexrode Productions and The Six String Society, has done it again!  This time with a cast of no less than 24 performers at the stunning live music and event venue “The Music Box” in the heart of downtown San Diego.

On Saturday, July 6, 2019, music lovers were treated to over four hours of comradery, fellowship, dance, and song.  Aptly named. “I Believe,” a versatile cast of artists and performers, dedicate the evening to stepping out of your comfort zone and into daring new adventures and experiences.

The Music Box is one of San Diego’s most loved event venues.  Located in Little Italy, it is surrounded by unique eateries, boutiques, and views of the ever-changing skyline of the city. A three-story structure, with an occupancy capacity of up to 3500 attendees, the open loft design accommodates a beautiful stage and sound system.  A large standing/dance area dominates the first floor with seating along the perimeter. The second floor provides for more seating around the edge to allow for unobstructed views to the floor and stage below.  The upper story contains a large open loft area with another bar with a social/dance area that cantilevers over the lower levels for more unobstructed views of the entertainment.  And finally, this floor opens onto a gorgeous covered deck/patio with seating a sweeping view of downtown San Diego.  It is truly San Diego’s foremost, intimate venue and attending any show here is a first-class experienc

For BackStage360, with the help of the fantastic staff, our evening started hours before curtain as we were able to stake a claim on the third floor, and invite several of the cast members, and local music fans, to spend a few minutes with us on camera, to chat about the show, their music, and what is currently going on in San Diego’s local music.  You can find our chats and mini-interviews at the end of this article.

As in several of The Six String Society performances, the stage is set in a young couple’s apartment, and throughout their evening they are visited by artists, performers, visionaries, dreamers, forward thinkers, and poets.

Hosts, Jessie Burns and Athena Espinoza, once again, opened their mythical, magical home for music fans to take music fans on a short vacation from the stress and worry that commands all of our lives these days.

One by one, or twos and threes, maybe by threes and fours, local artists showcased their musical talents.  The catalog of genres was extensive, and each artist brought to the stage tales of hopes and dreams, the conquering of fear, messages of awareness, of solitude and achievement.  They sang from their hearts and souls to empower and endow their audience and collective artists with inspiration, strength, and aspiration, to just believe.   To believe in yourself.  To believe in others.  To believe in the universe and all it has to offer. To reach for your star and never give up.

Jody Bagley

Each of the 25 artists, spoke out about a common thread of hope that if followed faithfully, we can all fulfill our dreams.  Some softly, others through rhythm and rhyme.  Some took the energy level through the roof.  Others showed us that regardless of spiritual and cultural upbringing, we basically all want and need the same element; to believe.  Each artist may have uniquely expressed this statement, but their intent was paralleled and what better way to send the inspiritment of believing than coming together in dance, poetry, and song.

Over the past few years of covering events hosted and organized by the Six String Society and Rexrode Productions, I am in constant awe of its many cast members and the over-the-top quality and professionalism of these performances.  The entertainment factor is genuinely second to none.  I am always looking forward to the next one.  With that being said, we’ll see you on the third annual, Six String Society’s, Halloween Cruise on October 12, with another all local, all-star cast of musicians and artists.

All of the performers and cast member’s of “I Believe” are local to San Diego, California.  Their music can be found on most popular music streaming sites and their websites or on social media by searching the artist’s name.
