Pink – Get The Party Started

I remember when Pink just started her solo career with her first big hit “There You Go” in the Year 2000. It is crazy how time flies by and to look back and see how Pink has grown and what she has become is just mind blowing. She is one of the strongest, most giving, and down to earth women today.  I feel honored to be the one who gets to watch and review her show tonight at the BOK Center in Tulsa Oklahoma.

The BOK Center is a very nice convention center. There are lots of vendors and all of the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. I had no problem finding my seat, with the staff pointing me in the right direction. Once in my seat, it didn’t take long for the opening act to start his show. It was DJ KIDCUTUP who got the crowd warmed up mixing his tunes. It made the time go by and before I knew it, it was time for Pink to make her appearance.

All I can say is Wow!  What a way to start her performance.   She was swinging up high on a pink chandelier, strapped in a trapeze harness, jumping off while spinning around and also interacting with her dancers while singing “Get The Party Started”.  This entrance onto the stage was a huge success with the audience. And this was just the beginning of an unforgettable evening.

Pink didn’t waste any time at all and went right into her next song “Beautiful Trauma”. This song is one of Pink’s newer songs which were just released on September 28th 2017. Her stage set up was very artistic with Pink and her dancers using pink street lamps on stage for props and making use of the huge stage.

Her next song was “Just like a Pill”. Pink came out with this song in 2002 and it was one of her very successful songs.  While singing this song, she made sure she took time to say hello to her fans and walk to every area of the stage before she started her next song “Who Knew”.

Like I said earlier the stage set up was very artistic and Pink didn’t save on surprises. She started out with a cartoon video which was really funny. The crowd loved it and everybody was cheering and laughing. And then there it was…. the song “Revenge”.  Pink had a huge balloon character come on stage and before you knew it she was back hooked up to the harness, swinging in the air, kicking and beating the balloon character.  From there she proceeded to “Funhouse” which I personally like a lot and I think this song is fun, next was Nirvana’s “Smells like Teen Spirit” which got the crowd pumped up and the band appeared to have a great time performing this alternative rock classic.

Pinks next performance was back up in the air again. Singing the song “Secrets”, her and a male acrobat put on a show. This act was a huge hit with the audience and once again everybody cheered and applauded.

After this act the whole stage set up changed. It was so beautiful and stunning.  Leaves were falling from the ceiling and the stage transformed into an enchanted bayou setting while Pink performed the song “Try” followed by another one of her big hits “Just Give Me A Reason” which was released in 2012, followed by “I’m Not Dead” and “Just Like Fire”.

Up next was the song “What About Us”; Pink played a very powerful video about empowerment, struggle, love and the message to stay true to yourself.  After watching her video to this song, I now have a deeper understanding of the meaning that Pink intended for us when performing it.

Pink continued her show with one of my favorite songs “For Now” followed by “Barbies” and the fun song “I Am Here”.  Next was the song everybody knows “F**kin’ Perfect”. The crowd cheered and went crazy when the song started and instantly pretty much everybody in the BOK Center was singing along; and since she had the crowd going, she just continued with the song “Raise Your Glass” which is another one of her hits.

Like every great show this one was coming to an end. “Blow Me One Last Kiss” was a nice ending to an incredible evening. You would think so, but not for Pink. She had two more songs up her sleeve for an encore. Pink had given us one of the most entertaining, amazing, spectacular and just Wow evenings and she ended her show with a stunning encore of her songs “So What” and “Glitter in the Air”.

I must say Pinks show has been one of the most incredible shows I have seen. I knew I was in for a treat when I went to see her show but I never in my wildest dreams would have imagined that it

would be this great. She is one heck of a woman and if you should ever get the chance to see her show just do it, you will not be disappointed. WOW!  Is all I can say to the end of this review and I can’t wait for her to come to my area again so I can experience this with my friends.
