Theory of a Deadman – Say Nothing

Spirit Animal

If you had a long Day at work and you just want to relax with some good music and have some drinks, go to the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City. They have the perfect atmosphere and of course the best music. Tonight is the night for “Theory Of A Deadman”  with the opening band  “Spirit Animal”. We all knew that we were in for a real treat.

“Spirit Animal” is a band from New York City and their style is more of the rock, pop and funk style. They have released three studio albums: The Cost Of Living in 2010, Born Yesterday in 2018 and Reborn Yesterday which is their newest one released in 2019. They had no problem at all getting the audience moving and dancing along with their catchy groove.  This band’s music is a very easy listen and you start moving to the beat without even realizing you’re doing so. “Spirit Animal was the perfect band choice for opening up the show.

The evening continued with “Theory Of A Deadman” hopping onto the stage performing “Lowlife”.  The band is from Delta, British Columbia and was formed in 2001. Their style of music is in the post-grunge, hard rock, alternative rock and alternative metal area. In their career they had three number one hits (Lowlife, RX and Bad Girlfriend) which they also performed tonight. We were treated to a variety of great songs from a few of their albums. We heard “Lowlife” and also “Bitch Came Back” from the album The Truth, released July 2011. From the 2008 album Scars & Souvenirs, the band played “Not Meant to be”, “So Happy”, “All or Nothing”, “Hate My Life”, and “Bad Girlfriend”. Then from the Savages album released in July 2014 they performed “Blow”, “Drown” and “Angel”. The evening continued with songs “Wicked Game”, “Straight Jacket” and “RX” from their 2017 Album Wake Up Call. Everybody was having a blast. Throughout the show we had one older song from 2005 “Santa Monica” which pretty much everybody knew and also as a special treat one brand new song which will be released January 31st 2020 on their brand new album “Say Nothing”.

It was a nice mix up of their hits from different times and different albums. Everybody at the Diamond Ballroom had a good time and it seemed like the fans could disconnect from the everyday stress and worries to enjoy themselves with great music and entertainment. Sometimes it doesn’t really take a vacation to get away from the everyday stuff. All it takes is a good beat, the right friends around you and the right drink in your hand.

Make sure you check these guys out. I am sure you will enjoy them as much as all of us at the Diamond Ballroom did.
